How we achieved our objectives

  • Set the benchmark in terms of weights and distance travel for this process
  • Brainstormed as a team and delegate different tasks
  • Gathered feedback from operators
  • Creating S.O.P, floor paint and shadow boards to sustain the organisation of 4010 area

Pre-Improvement Data

  • Quality – 66% (5S Score)
  • Cost – £2500 per year (excluding H&S injuries)
  • Delivery – lifting 8 tonnes of material per shift + each operator moves this material up to 4280 meters per shift

Post-Improvement Data

  • Quality – 95% (5S score)
  • Cost – £1250 per year approx
  • Delivery – lifting 4 tonnes of material per shift + each operator will move this material up to 1060 meters per shift
